Stamford Hospital/Columbia University
Family Medicine Program
Established in 1977, the primary objective of the Stamford Hospital/Columbia University Family Medicine Program is to train residents to be excellent family physicians by applying the family practice principles of comprehensiveness, continuity, compassion, personal care, prevention, community involvment, family orientation, and committment to continuing education throughout the residency experience.
About the Program
Residents gain the knowledge necessary to function as independent family physicians as they proceed through the three-year curriculum. Through lectures, consultation with our excellent specialits, formal reading assignments, discussion with faculty, and (most importantly) managing their own patients, residents continually expand their knowledge base.
