Clinical Research

As the largest community-based research center and clinical trials program in Fairfield County, the Bennett Cancer Center gives its patients an edge in their battle against cancer. Patients who participate in clinical trials receive new treatments in addition to standard therapies, giving them more - and frequently better - tools to fight the disease.

Twelve percent of Bennett Cancer Center patients are enrolled in clinical trials, compared to an average of just 3% in other cancer centers. Involvement in clinical trials benefits patients. They get access to a wide range of new, experimental drugs without having to leave the community for treatment.

The Bennett Cancer Center's involvement in research is one of the main reasons for its accreditation at the highest level as a Teaching Hospital Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons - a claim no other community hospital in lower Fairfield County can make. Click here to view clinical trials.
