In partnership with Columbia-New York Presbyterian Hospital, Stamford Hospital offers the full range of cardiology services, including preventive cardiology and interventional cardiology, angioplasty and open heart surgery.
Stamford Hospital has a long history of providing excellent clinical cardiology care by our group of outstanding cardiologists. Our comprehensive cardiac imaging capabilities include CT scan, MRI, nuclear imaging and echocardiography. We perform diagnostic catheterizations and emergency angioplasty and have a fully equipped electrophysiology service.
In the brand-new Richard & Hinda Rosenthal Cardiology Unit, we've developed a state-of-the-art patient care unit, architecturally designed according to the Planetree philosophy of patient-centered care. The environment is designed to be conducive to healing, while at the same time featuring advanced technology to care for these sometimes very sick patients. In addition to the 24 general cardiac care beds, we have an additional eight dedicated to sicker patients, with a nursing staff specially trained in caring for patients at this high
level of acuity.
The environment of our new cardiology unit is designed to be conducive to healing while utilizing state of the art technology.
Stamford Hospital's Department of Cardiology is firmly committed not only to treating and healing heart disease, but also to helping educate and inspire people in the community to prevent it.
We adhere to the principles of preventive cardiology, offering a comprehensive array of assessment and screening evaluations, prevention programs and educational and awareness events directed at helping healthy people to avoid heart disease, in addition to working with cardiovascular patients to help them become stronger. Stamford Hospital offers smoking cessation programs and our Health & Fitness Institute, located at Tully Health Center, offers programs, workshops and lectures to help people take control of their health.
