Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Stamford Hospital 's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provides privacy and respect for baby and family.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Stamford Hospital is a Level IIIa facility that provides quality, family-centered care to babies and their families.

The NICU is staffed by neonatologists, a dedicated nursing staff, and numerous pediatric subspecialists who work together to provide the best possible care to newborn infants who require special attention. The Resource Room at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is sponsored by the Tiny Miracles Foundation and offers information and respite for visiting families. Two transition rooms, where parents can stay overnight prior to their baby's discharge, can help in transitioning new parents and baby from NICU to home.

The NICU is part of the Whittingham Specialty Care Pavilion, a 120,000-square foot facility dedicated to the care of mothers and babies. The staff of the NICU works closely with the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to high-risk mothers and their infants.
